Dr. Mary Nganga is a Public Health Educator, Professor, entrepreneur, Nurse Practitioner, Mother, Author, and, most importantly, a child of God.
She had a PHD in public health with her thesis focusing on utilization of mental healthcare among Blacks. She was born and raised in Kenya but now resides in Texas.
She is a passionate mental wellness advocate, and believes that a healthy mind is the beginning of a healthy and thriving life.
This first book/memoir recounts a chapter of her journey of moving forward through life detours against all odds while overcoming some strong-held biases about mental illness among Black people. She believes everyone is exactly where they are meant to be, and despite aspiring to be better, they should still live to their fullest ability while enjoying their current seasons of life.
Life is not about a destination. It is about enjoying the journey while still moving forward toward the destination.
